Saeed AmiraslaniSaeed Amiraslani

Saeed Amiraslani graduated from McGill University with a Bachelor degree in Physical Therapy in 1991. He is also a member of (l’ Ordre Professionnel de la Phyiothérapie du Québec) and the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. Throughout his career of 16 years, Saeed has taken several post graduate courses, including first and second year of Osteopathy, Acupuncture, Manual Therapy and holds a diploma in “Re-éducation Postural Global” (R.P.G.).  When Saeed is not at the clinic you can find him enjoying cross country skiing and cycling.

Lyne CorbeilLyne Corbeil

Lyne Corbeil graduated from the University of Ottawa in 1994 with a degree in Physiotherapy. She is a licensed physiotherapist and a member of the Ordre Professionnel de la Physiothérapie du Québec. She realized that she wanted to become a physiotherapist during her CEGEP years while assisting Steve King and Mario Mercier with the Bishop’s University and Champlain College (Lennoxville) varsity teams. She began her career in Ottawa where she served as the University of Ottawa’s chief therapist from 1995 to 1997 and has worked in a private clinic setting since she moved to Montréal in 1997. She earned a certificate in sports physiotherapy in 1996 and has taken many continuing education courses including manual therapy (up to Part A), myofascial release, muscular energy techniques, neural mobilization, etc. In addition, she has so far completed one year of osteopathic studies. She has chosen to focus her career on osteopathy and hopes to complete her studies by 2014.
Stephen CrossStephen Cross

Physiotherapist Stephen Cross graduated from McGill University in 1986 with a Bachelor degree in Physical Therapy. Stephen also completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Physiology at McGill University in 1983. He is a member of l'Ordre professionnel de la physiothérapie du Québec and became a certified athletic therapist in 1988. Steve has demonstrated a special interest in sports medicine and covered several sporting events. These include World Gymnastics Championships, McGill's Football (16 seasons) and Basketball (12 seasons) and Major Junior Football (2 seasons). Most notably he spend 2 with the Montreal Concorde Football team and another 5 seasons with the Montreal Alouettes Football team on game day. In 2003, Steve joined the medical team of Action Sport Physio. He enjoys sharing his knowledge and expertise with his co-workers by providing his colleagues with In-Services. Steve has taken courses in Manual Therapy (E3V3), Muscle Energy (Lumbar/Pelvic), and Nerve Mobilization. Away from the clinic, Steve enjoys playing tennis, teaching, watching movies and listening to music.
Andrea DewarAndrea Dewar

Physiotherapist Andrea Dewar graduated from McGill University in 2001 with a Bachelor degree in Physical Therapy. She is a member of l'Ordre professionnel de la physiothérapie du Québec and is recognized by the Canadian Alliance of Physiotherapy Regulatory Boards. Andrea worked at the Montreal General Hospital for several years before joining the Action Sport Physio team in 2005. Since graduation Andrea has taken several post-graduate courses including Manual Therapy (E1V1), Myofascial Release and is presently completing her Level 2 Manual Therapy. Away from the clinic, Andrea has worked with the Dollard Water polo Club as well as the Pointe Claire Swim Club as a physiotherapist consultant.
Johanna DiNardo

Massage Therapist Johanna Di Nardo specializes in Kinetic Swedish and Hot Stone Massage.  She is a graduate of Kine Concept Institute.  She also specializes in lymphatic drainage therapy, receiving her training with the Upledger Institute in the United States.  Johanna is a member of the Fédération québécoise des massothérapeutes (FQM) and is planning on furthering her education in the vast world of massage therapy.
Guillaume HamelGuillaume Hamel

Physiotherapist Guillaume Hamel graduated from the University of Montreal in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy. He is a registered physiotherapist member of l'Ordre professionnel de la physiothérapie du Québec, the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and also a member of Sport Physiotherapy Canada (SPC). He is now in the process of obtaining his certification level in SPC. Since graduation, Guillaume has continued his strong interest in the field of Sports Medicine. He has participated as a medical team member in international, national and provincial athletic events. Since spring 2005, he is the physiotherapist for the Montreal Impact soccer team whom were ranked first in the regular 2005 and 2006 season of the USL League. At his second season with the Impact, he was named head physiotherapist of the team. He was also on the medical team for the University of Montreal Men's Soccer Team for three years, two of which they reached the national championship (2003-2004). Guillaume has continued to develop his knowledge in various areas of Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine. He has taken and he is still taking courses in Manual Therapy, Sports First Responder, McKenzie, Sport Massage and Taping. Meanwhile, when Guillaume is not at the clinic or on the soccer field, you can often find him at the cinema, on the baseball diamond, or on a golf course. He is a big Elvis Presley fan and don’t be surprised if one day you find him impersonating the King himself!
Robin KatzRobin Katz

Physiotherapist Robin Katz graduated from McGill University with a Bachelor degree in Physical Therapy and a minor in Psychology in 1990. Robin is a member of l'Ordre des professionnels de la physiothérapie du Québec. In her 15 year career, Robin has taken several post-graduate courses including Manual Therapy (E3V3 Lower Quadrant and Upper Quadrant), McKenzie Parts A & B, and analysis and treatment of temporo-mandibular joint dysfunction. Robin's other interests include cancer rehabilitation. She has attended several conferences on the subject and has lectured on breast cancer rehabilitation at McGill University. In her free time Robin enjoys gardening, taking part in her book club and working with the Just for Kids Foundation.
Wendy KennedyWendy Kennedy

Wendy Kennedy is certified as a Muscle Activation and Post Rehabilitation Specialist, a Master Level Personal Trainer, Yoga and Pilates Instructor, Aquatic Rehabilitation, Posture and Gait Analysis Specialist and a CPR instructor. Continuing education over the past 24 years has been Wendy’s passion.  Wendy certifies personal trainers for Can-Fit-Pro at the entry and advanced levels and assisted in the development of The Trainer Advantage certification series for the fitness industry.  Wendy edited the first edition of the CALA aqua-arthritis certification manual and is co-founder of The Health, Rehabilitation & Fitness Network for on-going education in the field of wellness. Presently Wendy is the Muscle Activation Techniques Specialist and personal trainer/Pilates instructor with the Action Sport Physio West Island clinic.
Badoui KhalilBadoui Khalil

Physical Readaptation Therapist Having earned his degree in physiotherapy in 1992 from Lebanese University, Badoui spent eight years working in a private clinic. He also held a part-time position at the IUSF (Institut universitaire de la Sainte-Famille) in Lebanon, where he taught physiotherapy from 1994 to 1999. He acquired a great deal of experience in the treatment of injured and disabled war veterans. He also served eight years as a volunteer first aid worker for the Red Cross. He arrived in Canada in 2002 where he obtained an attestation of equivalence to practice as a physical rehabilitation therapist and became a member of the Ordre professionnel de la physiothérapie du Québec. He worked three years at the Physergo clinic in Verdun while pursuing part-time studies in osteopathy. He is currently in his fifth and final year of study at Collège d’études ostéopathiques (C.E.O.) in Montréal.  
Tanya LabergeTanya Laberge

Physiotherapist Tanya graduated from the University of Ottawa in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy.  She is a registered physiotherapist and a member of the Professional Order of  Physiotherapy in Quebec, the Canadian Association Sports Division as well as Sport Physiotherapy Canada (SPC).   For the past 3 years Tanya has been a student therapist at the University of Ottawa Gee-Gee’s women’s hockey team (2004-2007) and participated in the national championships this past season in Ottawa she has a great passion for sports medicine and thrives to further her knowledge in the field.  So far she has under taken a few taping courses, sports physiotherapy courses and will soon be starting manual therapy.   Away from the clinic Tanya enjoys playing Hockey and soccer working out at the gym.

Carole LeducCarole Leduc

OsteopathCarole Leduc graduated from Concordia University in 1991 with a Bachelor Degree in Exercise Science with a specialty in Athletic Therapy. She became a Certified Athletic Therapist in 1994 and is currently a member of the Corporation des Thérapeutes du Sport du Québec and the Canadian Athletic Therapy Association. She then studied Osteopathy at the College d'Études Ostéopathiques de Montréal from which she graduated in 1996 after the completion of her thesis. She is a member of the Régistre des Ostéopathes du Québec and also of the Association des Diplômés en Ostéopathie du Québec. Carole has been a member of the Action Sport Physio staff since 1990 as an athletic therapist, and coordinated the Industrial Rehabilitation program from 1991 to 1996. She is now a practicing Ostéopath at Action Sport Physio as well as clinical professor at the College d` Etudes Ostéopathiques de Montréal. As a therapist, she has been involved with different sports events, such as the Canadian Wrestling Championships, the Canadian Synchronized Swimming Championships and International Figure Skating. Carole was also involved with Canadian College Football for 4 years. As an athlete she trained in dance for 8 years and was a member of an elite synchronized swimming team for 8 years. She also coached national level athletes in synchronized swimming for 6 years. She now competes as a master`s level swimmer.

Heather LittleHeather Little

PhysiotherapistHeather Little graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from McGill University in 2007 and joined our team at Action Sport just a few days later.  Her interest in physiotherapy and sports medicine was sparked several years ago when she attended Bishops University and worked as a physiotherapy aid for the Bishops Gaitors and the Champlain Cougars.  She is now a member of l'Ordre des professionnels de la physiothérapie du Québec and works full time at the clinic.  Heather has begun to further her knowledge of orthopedic injuries with the MacKenzie method of treating low back pain and is beginning courses in Manual Therapy.  Outside the clinic she enjoys reading, biking, working with children and just hanging out with friends.
Chris MaresChris Mares

Chris graduated from McGill University with a Bachelors of Physical therapy in 2008 and is a licensed member of the Ordre professionnel de la physiothérapie du Québec (OPPQ). He graduated top of his class, receiving the Canadian Physiotherapy Association Award for clinical and academic excellence. Chris has been with Action Sport Physio West Island since 2004 and has been implicated in research projects promoting our Shockwave Therapy. Chris also grew up playing high level basketball, soccer and many other sports in the west island and therefore is very interested in working with athletes. He has covered several sporting events such as soccer and football. Chris is interested in pursuing advanced courses in manual therapy and sports medicine as well as the possibility of pursuing a Masters Degree in the future. Chris is currently in the process of completing his level 2 Manual Therapy Classes. When not at the clinic, Chris enjoys camping, the outdoors, relaxing at the cottage with family and friends.
Melissa RachieleMelissa Rachiele

Patient Representative and Public Relations Melissa Rachiele has been working for Action Sport Physio West Island since February 20th, 2006 as the Patient and Public Relations Representative. It is her responsibility to ensure that the patients receive the best care possible while they are treated at our facility.Her goal is to help provide our patients with information, support, encouragement and assistance. She acts as a bridge between the patient and staff, helping to enhance communication and advocate on their behalf to address & resolve any issues in order to ensure a quick response with a positive outcome.  Melissa takes pleasure in making it her duty to evaluate patient satisfaction, investigate complaints and collect information about patient dissatisfaction to work with the department to ensure proper care. Occasional surveys are distributed (available upon request) and with your added suggestions, this will allow Melissa to take action to continuously improve our services to better serve you.Away from the clinic, Melissa takes pride in maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle, indoors and outdoors. She enjoys a weekly game of soccer, boxing and fishing when the occasion arises. As for being indoors, you’ll most probably find her in the kitchen cooking up a storm!
Jodi RappJodi Rapp

Physiotherapist Jodi Rapp graduated from McGill University in 1988 with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy.  She is a member of l'Ordre des professionnel de la physiothérapie du Québec.  Jodi began her carreer in acute care orthopaedics where she practiced until 1996.  She has been practicing in a private clinic since then, and joined the Action Sport Physio team in 2007.  She takes a special interest in arthritis where she has been teaching weekly exercise and education classes for 10 years.  Jodi continues to develop her knowledge in orthopaedics with several post-graduate courses including manual therapy (E2V2) and clinical courses on pelvic dysfunctions, cervical and thoracic spine.  In her spare time, Jodi enjoys skiing, walking, tennis and traveling with her family.
Véronique RiverinVéronique Riverin

Véronique graduated from Concordia University where she majored in Sports Therapy. She was chosen to work with the Stingers semi-pro football team and the women’s hockey team. Three years later, she set off on her own to start a business working with endurance athletes at V3 Sport and then chose to pursue her career working at Cirque du Soleil. She is currently the Event Coordinator for Action Sport Physio West Island. Véronique is also an accomplished athlete who has earned many honours: US Course Track and Field 1995-1999 – Three-time gold medallistEco Challenge (58 hrs) 2006 – Gold medalOlympic Distance Triathlon 2007 – Gold medal  Certifications- Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA –CSCS)- Red Cross CPR/First Aid/First Responder Instructor- Burdenko Aquatic Therapist In her spare time, Véronique volunteers for several humanitarian groups. In April 2008, she will be going to Nepal to participate in a community project. She will be the only Canadian joining 13 Australians who will walk up the Himalayan Mountains to Junbesi village where they will build a school for 300 underprivileged Nepalese students.
Julie RobichaudJulie Robichaud

Physiotherapist Julie Robichaud obtained her physiotherapy diploma from the University of Dalhousie,Halifax in 1994.  She is a member of the Professional Order of Physiotherapist of Quebec and the Canadian Association of Physiotherapists. Julie has taken several manual therapy courses such as E3V3 as well as upper and lower quadrant courses. In her spare time, she spends a lot of time with her family and loves to participate in different sports.  She has practiced Volleyball, her favorite sport, at a professional provincial level and university level (she reached provincial championships on several occasions).  She also participated in beach volleyball national championships in 1997.  In 1999, she was a part of the medical team for the Canada winter Games in Cornerbrook, New Foundland as a physiotherapist. Julie joined the team “Triathlon des Dynamique de L’Ouest de Montreal” since 2007 and has an avid interest in running.
Alain ScheldemanAlain Scheldeman

'President - PhysiotherapistAlain Scheldeman graduated from McGill University in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy. During the same year he completed his Canadian Athletic Therapy Certification. He is a licensed Physiotherapist and Certified Athletic Therapist. He is a member of l’Ordre des professionnels de la physiothérapie du Québec and the Canadian Athletic Therapists Association. Alain also teaches at the University of Montreal in the Department of Physical Therapy. Since graduation Alain has continued to demonstrate an interest in physical and sports medicine. He has attended various athletic events including the 1990, 1992 and 1996 World Junior Figure Skating Championships and the 1997 World Figure Skating Championship in Lausanne, Switzerland. With a particular interest in figure skating, he was the Coordinating Therapist of the Canadian Figure Skating Association for more than 5 years.  He also participated in the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary.  From 1984 to 1987, Alain was head therapist for the Montreal Alouettes/Concords football team.  With the return of Professional football in Montreal in 1996, Alain once again coordinated the sports medicine services for the Montreal Alouettes Football Club until 2000.  In 2002 he became the medical coordinator for the Montreal Impact soccer team. Always remaining current on various topics in the field of physical and sports medicine, Alain has taken additional professional training in Manual Therapy, Acupuncture, Muscle Energy, Myofascial Release, Patella Femoral Disorders according to McConnell Approach and McKenzie Back and Neck Care Techniques.  Alain is one of the three founders of the Action Sport Physio network.  He is the Chief Executive Officer of Action Sport Medicine International, the franchisor and Vice-President of Public Relations.  He is responsible for the development of the network. Outside of his professional activities, he enjoys playing tennis, hockey and golf. During the summer months, if he is not in the clinic or at the franchisor’s office, you will find him participating in outdoor sports.    
Debbie SkittDebbie Skitt

PhysiotherapistDebbie Skitt graduated from McGill University in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy, She is a registered physiotherapist and a member of the Ordre des professionnels de la physiothérapie du Québec. Since graduation Debbie has continued her strong interest in the field of Sports Medicine. She has participated as a medical team member in international, national and provincial athletic events including the 1985 World Gymnastics Championships, the 1985 Provincial Diving Championships, the 1984 World Judo Championships. Debbie also assisted at the 1997 World Figure Skating Competition in Lauzanne Switzerland as well as various local figure skating competitions. She also covered the Kirkland Fun Run in September 1997. She is also busy coaching girls U16 inter city soccer. Debbie has continued to develop her knowledge in various areas of Physical and Sports Medicine. She has taken courses in Manual Therapy, Muscle Energy, Myofascial Release, Patella Femoral Disorders Management according to McConnell's Approach and McKenzie Back and Neck Care Techniques. Away from the clinic Debbie enjoys jogging, playing tennis and swimming. She is also a proud mother of two children who are both very involved in sports.
Lucy-Mae SmithLucy-Mae Smith

MassotherapistLucy-Mae Smith specializes in Kinetic Swedish and Sports Massage. She has now been practicing for 2 years and joined the Action Sport team in summer 2004. Lucy is also a nationally ranked competitive swimmer who currently holds 2 standing provincial records and also won gold, silver and bronze medals at the 1997 Canada games, placing her onto the Canadian National Team. Although Lucy has decided to hang up her Goggles, she feels that her experience and knowledge from being an elite athlete helps her in her Massage practice. She is currently working with the Montreal Impact Soccer team and has worked at National swimming, waterpolo, diving and synchro competitions. Lucy plans on completing more courses in Massage to develop new and advance techniques and approaches the wonderful world of massotherapy and may even like to teach it one day, to future practitioners. Outside of work, Lucy's passions are scuba diving, working out, skiing, tennis, music, traveling and she even enjoys a massage every now & then too.
Sylvain TrudelSylvain Trudel

Sylvain L. Trudel trained in Chinese Medicine at the Collège de Médecine Chinoise et Culturelle in Montréal and Québec City. He graduated in 1987 and has been a practicing acupuncturist for over 20 years. He decided to settle in the West Island in 1998 after working in Québec City and Baie Comeau. To round out his practical knowledge, Sylvain has followed several additional training programs, including musculoskeletal pain assessment, trigger points, gynaecology, and menopause, to name but a few. He also completed a craniosacral training program in 2004. In addition, his training in the use of Soft Laser treatments for children and people who cannot tolerate needles is the perfect complement to the single-use needle technique associated with conventional methods. He recently began a new Total Biology research project that takes a fresh look at understanding disease through a holistic approach similar to the precepts of Chinese Medicine which consider the body and the spirit as a whole. In addition, through regular ionic spa sessions he directs a particular focus at detoxifying the body and eliminating the heavy metals that unbalance the system and cause health problems. In his free time, Sylvain particularly enjoys working out or a good game of badminton with friends.
Daniele VendittiDaniele Venditti

Daniele Venditti completed his Bachelor of Science degree, major in Exercise Science, at Concordia University in 2006. Over the years, Danny grew a great appreciation for the field of massage therapy due to its significant therapeutic benefits. For this reason, he decided to pursue his studies at Kiné-Concept Institute in Massage Therapy. He earned a specialization in Kinetic Swedish Massage, Passive Mobilizations, and Sports Massage as well as obtaining a membership in the Fédération Québécoise des Massothérapeutes (FQM). Joining the Action Sport Physio team in 2008, Danny hopes to gain more knowledge and experience in his field. He has much experience working with athletes at such events as the Canadian CN Olympic Swimming Trials, Speedo National Club Championship in Water Polo, and CEGEP Provincial Swim Championship. He has also had the pleasure to work with the Montreal Impact Soccer Team. Danny has always been a great sports enthusiast, being surrounded by sports as an athlete himself and an avid spectator. He is most passionate about soccer and traveling.
