Dear Ronny,
This is “my success story” – which is actually a letter of extreme gratitude for the work the team at Action Sport Physio Montreal-West clinic has done with me. I first walked into your physiotherapy clinic in mid-June, when I was 7 weeks post-op, after having had a mastectomy for breast cancer. I was sore, stiff and discouraged. I did not think I would ever be able to swim as well as before: I was still walking in the shallow end, paddling weakly with my left arm. After my first visit with you (Ronny Varga), I felt taken in hand, and had confidence that you knew what you were doing. You spent time to teach me about the nature of my problems, what I could do to improve them, and demonstrated to me some improvement within that very first session. I went home, did your exercises, and within one week, I had drastically improved my range of motion in my shoulder. The improvement was so rapid, that my mood and confidence shot up and I felt hopeful again.
After 4 sessions with you, I was slowly regaining my swimming capacity. At this point, you referred me to Samya Tatone for Pilates. I have to say that seeing Samya over the last 6 months has made a tremendous difference to my health. As a result of seeing her, I am much more aware of my posture, movements and feel physically stronger in muscles I didn’t know I had. People have commented that I am looking better, and this is because I am carrying myself differently. As a direct result of seeing her, my swimming has improved, to the point that I swim my 1.5 km a whole minute faster than before my operation. Samya is a great teacher – patient, and personable, with the knack for transmitting tricky ideas, so that they stick in your head when you are practicing by yourself, or even just walking around in the world.
Your team is very professional, and seems to work well together. I have received a lesson in classical stretch from Katie and a massage from Jen. Everyone has always treated me with courtesy and kindness, and there is a nice ambiance at your clinic. I feel very fortunate to have walked in off the street that June day.
Thank you again, for all you have done (and continue to do) for me. Keep up the good work.
After three wonderful weeks at Action Sport Physio Montreal-West, the transformations were unbelievably positive. I can now run almost faster than before I fractured my knee, and my mobility is 100%. I can only wish something small happens so I can return to this establishment and be treated with such effectiveness.
Every time I do the exercises that you guys taught me, I can play for a long period of time without feeling pain. (Sabrina Sabelli)
After hurting my wrist while playing golf, daily activities such as putting on my seatbelt became a chore. I came to see Ronny and within three treatments I already began to notice an improvement in my wrist. With the help of Ronny and Katie, I was back on the golf course within 2 weeks.
Can’t believe how professional and ethical the staff at Action Sport-Physio-Mtl West are! The first time I went for physio was for a sprained ankle, and I found that the treatments and exercises were easy to do and the pain went away. So when my shoulder was sore, I knew where to go, Ronny was there for me again. Friendly phone messages and emails help to remind me of my next appointments. Experience, convenience and results are what will bring me back. I look forward to using their other professional services available.
Thanks Ronny and Staff!! (Ronny)
I sprained my ankle-playing tennis. I was limping and my ankle was swollen-It was a light sprain as I had a more serious one before. I started Physio on the 3rd Day. Felt better quite fast, exercises were good. Therapy worked really well. 7th day feeling great, almost no weakness, no swelling.
Great Job!!!(Sabrina)
I was experiencing pain in my right heel, which was preventing me from doing simple things like walking or going downstairs. Now, my heel feels so much better, and I owe it all to Action Sport Physio. (Sabrina)
I came to see Ronny on a referral from a friend. It was a week after my injury and I thought it would heal on its own. My injury was taking much longer to heal and I made an appointment. The first session was painful but Ronny told me that it is good to get the blood flowing. After just several sessions, I started to feel the improvement and the healing process sped up . I will be back in action in less than 2 weeks after my first visit. (Ronny)
I came here early October 07 with a swollen left knee and I wasn’t able to bend it or move more than ninety degrees. Maude did a preanalysis and concluded that the tightness of my muscles(hamstring) might be the cause of the problem. She worked hard on the muscles to make them loose and gave me couple of exercises. Those two things in combination helped tremendously and I'm now able to bend my leg again at a hundred and eighty degrees and as well (the best part) nearly don’t feel anymore pain.
Thanks for the great effort!!(Maude)
I have been doing pilates with Samya for over a year now. I love it. I love the way it makes me feel stronger all over. I love the way I stand taller now. It’s the best work out without all the jumping and bouncing around of aerobics. The one on one work I do with Samya is much better then a large class because the focus is on my pilates so every move is perfected. I leave my pilates class feeling energized and ready for the day ahead. (Samya)
I walked into Action Sport Physio with a diagnosed chronic lower back pain. After an evaluation I was told “your upper back is stiff as a board, your pelvis is crooked. We will work on strenghthening your muscles around your lower back area, this will help you decrease the pressure you are putting on your lower back” So for the next 7 weeks that’s what we did with two visits a week. The staff worked on all my back muscles and made me try some rather interesting exercises. The results have been unbelievable NO MORE BACK PAINS. This great result was achieved with a limited amount of exercises. At first 3 segments daily of 10-15 minutes. Later on 10-15 minutes a day was sufficient. Today, 2 weeks after my last treatment 10-15 minutes every 3 days does the trick. (Ronny)
Thank you Ronny and the Crew!!!
When I first injured my shoulder I was unable to perform regular movements. It got injured during a hockey game and I was not able to play for approx 2 weeks. I came to physio and about a week later I had already felt a difference. The exercises which received from Sabrina really accelerated my rehabilitation. I am now pretty much 100% again and I am very excited to continue my hockey season. (Sabrina)
Right after my injury, I had lot of trouble going up and down stairs, and there was a constant pain in my ankle. After a week of training, the pain is almost completely gone, and I can really feel the strength coming back.
(Sabrina)
Pilates has made a big difference in my life. Having herniated a lumbar disc 3 years ago I had lost all my flexibility and movement in my back and rotator hip. Pilates has improved my posture, flexibility, self-esteem. Also I am a breast cancer survivor, Pilates has encouraged me to be positive, helpful in loosing weight and reshaping my body. It has given me a new overall look on life, and I look forward to going to class. (Samya)
I sustained a knee injury while playing basketball. After 10 days of self treatment (ice, rest) I made little improvement and sought physiotherapy. With better guidance and a physio program I saw improvement even after my first visit and notable incremental improvement between each subsequent visit. I now walk normally with no pain and I’m rapidly approaching use of full range of motion. (Sabrina)
I can walk sit and play a lot better and easier now. I don’t have trouble on or off the ice anymore. (Sabrina).
I'm not an athlete, but I still had aches and pains that bogged me down. The combination of physio, massotherapy and pilates work has gotten me in very good shape and the pain is gone! thanks Samya, Jennifer and Sabrina!
My experience was really good. When I initially came into Action Sport, my back caused so much pain I could not sleep through the night. Maude did a great job showing me which stretches to do and within less than a month I am almost 100%. If I had not come here, I would probably be in severe pain still. (Maude Langelier-Parent)
100% better, better shape to knees that work great, very friendly people, had a nice time, very comfortable atmosphere, all which makes for a sucessful recovery. Thanks. (Maude Langelier-Parent)
Twisted foot in early December. By early January having trouble walking, pain was increasing but after 3 sessions and home exercises my foot is fully functional and pain is gone. (Sabrina Sabelli)
Shoulder pain has decreased considerably, stiffness on the right side is still there but it's only been 2 sessions. On the whole, it is bothering me much less (Sabrina Sabelli)
I owe my success to Maude's magical fingers. Every week I felt my pain gradually disappear a little more... until presto... I was cured and the ambiance of the clinic helps the healing. Everyone is great! (Maude Langelier-Parent)
Since I have started my treatment I have noticed a significant difference in the strength of my shoulder. It has become less painful to carry out every days tasks that involve stretching my shoulder above or behind me. I hope to keep up the treatment and strengthen my shoulder back to what it once was. (Maude Langelier-Parent)
I can now run without pain. I can also play hockey and soccer. I can kick a ball and have some fun. My legs feel better and I can get to playing the sports I like. (Sabrina Sabelli)
I was lucky to have a therapist like Maude. Not only was she encouraging but always knew what I need to heal me fast. Great hands on technique and fun atmosphere. Thanks for all of your help. (Maude Langelier-Parents)
Less pain while/after working out at the gym. No pain during 1 day ice-climbing. No pain during 1 day of skiing. Some pain walking after 1 1/2 weeks of inactivity. (Sabrina Sabelli)
I came in after a fall on my shoulder while skiing. I was referred for X-rays before treatments to make sure that nothing is broken. Now after 3 treatments there is a big improvement. (Sabrina Sabelli)
I couldn’t walk properly (I limped). I couldn’t get up or down stairs without help. I couldn’t move my ankle in any direction or put any pressure on it without feeling pain. I couldn’t go skiing or swim. I couldn’t even walk to the bus! BUT NOW I CAN!!! Thanks Action Sport Physio Montreal West and Sabrina Sabelli!
When I came here to Action sport, My ankle was hurting. I couldn’t run or jump without my ankle hurting. On my first appointment they stretched my ankle and gave me exercisesto do at home. At the second appointment my ankle was feeling much better. They stretched my ankle more and gave me more exercises to do. At the third appointment my ankle didn’t have anymore pain and felt better. With all the stretching and exercises my ankle is now good as new.
I came in with a pulled calf muscle. Walking, let alone sports, was painful. Ronny and Maude treated me initially and then Maude took over. There was steady progress and in 3 weeks I was essentially cured. What was particularly impressive was the way they adapted the treatment to the changes in me. The deep muscle manipulations were painful but they cleansed my soul! The exercises were very good and they pushed me to do things I had never tried before. I had a very fruitful session of balance exercises with Katie. The advice for the future that I got from Maude will
Be invaluable. All in all an outstanding team! Bravo Maude et merci mille fois!
2. I had a severe back problem(numbness on my left side, involuntary cramping in my left foot, pain in my hip, lower back and butt area) for more than a year and January 2008 we finally got the results to explain what was wrong and my choices on how to fix were surgery or the natural way( physiotherapy, chiropractor, and massage therapy). Well I decide to go the natural . I was not convinced nor was my doctor that surgery on my back at 35 was the best decision. But then my dilemma started. Physiotherapists are a dime a dozen and you could be lucky to get one that was actually interested in treating you or you could get one that just hooks you up on a machine, claim this will solve all your ailments. I was fortunate enough to have some friends recommend their physiotherapist to me but unfortunately they were to far and the waiting list too long.
I drive through Montreal West on a daily basis and kept seeing the building of Action sport. Sport therapy would be would be helpful to me for I am an active person and had to slow down because of my back. So I went on line, did some research , liked what I read and decided to take the chance. I figured if they didn’t have what I was looking for, someone that is attentive to my needs, who can listen to the problem and not try to solve it in between my sentences would be great. I felt I would be able to determine that after the first session if it didn’t work I would try out the suggestins from my friend, no harm, no fowl.
The day I called to make my first appointment I was fortunate that my therapist would be Ronny the owner. I was happy with that for I knew to myself if the owner couldn’t help me then that was a sigh I would need to go elsewhere. My first session was great. I met Ronny and explained to him my situation, showed him my medical documents. We talked, I expressed my concerns and what I was hoping would happen. He listened, did a physical test, walking, mobility, etc. Then he explained to me what he was thinking and what strategy we would use to get through my problem. He pointed out that he was not a miracle worker but he believed he knew where the problem lied and with some hard work and diligence on my part we might be able to rectify my problem. I was listening to him and liked what I heard but wasn’t convinced yet.
He then started working on my leg, under my thigh etc. My problem was being caused in my back but it wasn’t coming from my back. That turned the light bulb on, all this time everyone has been working on my back(lower & upper) hearing me complain about my back they assumed that’s where the pain was. After my first session I was feeling it but for the first time I wasn’t feeling it in my back. The weekend was long but when I returned for my follow up session on Monday I could move in ways I hadn’t been able to for a while and the pain in my lower back was gone, by the end of the week I was ready to jump some hurdles. I felt like my back was mine again. I play volleyball and have been very cautious when blocking or spiking because I was always worried that if I landed wrong it would be all over, but now I felt unstoppable. I was walking, jumping doing aerobics, my active self was revived and this was after 3 sessions(1 week). I had found the therapist who listened to my problem, found the main source and explained to me what he could do without the use of a machine and a hot water bottle. But by applying physical methods to wake up the parts that were sleeping, with different exercises to make me better and stronger. I made a good connection with Ronny. He was compassionate, understanding, genuine and most of all he knew what he was doing. I am still in therapy and loving every minute of it because the results speak more then a million words. I am able to sleep at night again because my biggest fear before therapy was that I would wake up one morning and not be able to walk. Instead I leap out of bed each morning knowing I’m getting stronger and stronger.
Aug. of 2007 I started to notice stiffness in my lower back. By Oct., there was severe pain running down my right leg. (Sciatic nerve). The discomfort occurred usually when I was seated, especially in the car getting in and out as well. Moving around and walking caused no pain at all. I started physiotherapy at the beginning of Oct. and was coming to the clinic twice a week through Dec. By January, my condition had improved to the point where I only needed physiotherapy once a week and by March every 2 weeks. By late May; almost full recovery. I continue with stretching exercises.
Great job girls on my knee. It took a little bit of hard work and great personnel to get my knee back to working order. Thanks and keep up the good work. Don’t take this the wrong way but I hope not to see you guys in the future!
I’m very pleased with my experience at Action Sport Physio. The Staff is extremely knowledgeable, supportive and friendly and the atmosphere is great. Thanks for everything, especially to my physiotherapist, Maude.
I’ve been seeing Maude about my right shoulder since before Christmas, although I originally saw her after a severe hip-bruise after a fall in late October. In treating the hip-bruise (icing at home, etc) an old long-standing mobility problem in my shoulder became exacerbated. Simple everyday movements (getting out of bed, driving a car, etc.) were becoming increasingly painful. I was looking forward to a vigorous season of cross country skiing and feared that I’d be unable to pursue this. Maude created an exercise routine for me, carefully observed my progress, and modified the exercises as she saw the progress I was achieving. With her careful monitoring my mobility, and also through her lucid, patient-friendly explanations of how the exercises were working, I felt very motivated to pursue this regimen. The feedback I received from her was very encouraging. The overall program was very successful. In fact, I was able to build back up to a vigorous level of skiing, and I logged over a hundred days on my skis during this past season. I’ve now been able to start canoeing and fishing with hardly and discomfort, which is a great improvement over how things were a year ago, well before I came to Action Sport Physio. In a way, that bruise on my hip led me to doing something about my shoulder-problem that had bothered me for a couple of years. Maude has been very attentive and helpful to me in finding a way to engage in my favourite pursuits without the discomfort I had tolerated for too long. I’m very thankful for her assistance and guidance.
When I first came, I was in pain because I landed on my hip bone. I badly bruised it, which prevented me from playing for a week. My bursa being swollen made my glutes, my hamstring and my quad hurt. Then, when I came to Action Sport Physio, Maude helped me get back into running shape within a week, I was able to play in my soccer tournament on the following weekend.
In the beginning , my back muscle was like a knot. After the first session, the pain decreased and the knot loosened up. The second session loosened the knot much more and the pain decreased substantially. The pain was no longer in that one area. After the third session, the knot was 90% gone and the pain came and went after a few seconds. The exercises to do every day really helped me out a lot.
I came to Action Sport a couple of weeks ago with a pain on my right lower back. I received physiotherapy a couple of times for two weeks. In addition I was given a series of exercises to do on my own in order to solve the problem. My back has improved very much. Sabrina is Fantastic! I am a lot more aware of what caused the problem and how to keep my back in better shape. Thank you Sabrina...you are great!
I came into Action Sport Physio without knowing anyone and I was made to feel comfortable and safe. My physiotherapist is very knowledgeable, friendly and open. Personally I benefited greatly at Action Sport Physio much more than at the hospital. Action Sport is very “ACTIVE” in their approach. From beginning to end my experience was very positive. Good to know, up to date knowledgable therapists who have incredible hands on treatment. I feel as though I never had a surgery. I feel so great! Thank you
After suffering from right shoulder pain for a number of months, I started physiotherapy with Maude who took the time to evaluate and diagnose my problem. With the physio treatment and exercise I was given to do at home, I was pain free within a few weeks! What an improvement in my quality of life!
Thank you for the excellent and attentive care.
With gratitude,
Helen
When I first started my treatments with Sabrina the pain in my neck and upper back was almost unbearable. After just one session I could already feel the tension going away. I was given exercises to help relieve the tension in my neck and they worked very well. As I continued my appointments and my exercises the pain kept getting better and now after my fourth session I feel much more relaxed and my tension is gone.
The pain in my shoulder has diminished and movement is much easier- not 100% but considerably better than before treatment.
Since I came to physio with Maude I was able to get more movement in my wrist on all angles and I thank you. There was nothing that I didn’t like about the treatment I received from Maude at ASP Montreal West.
Thanks for your help Maude!
I injured my ligaments in my left leg 3 months ago, the doctor said it would take until mid-August to heal. It’s been fine for 2-3 weeks now, its mid July!!!!! I also tore my rotator cuff; it’s about 90% now thanks to the treatment I received here at action sport physio Montreal West.
After I started coming to physio my shins in general when doing sports or just walking stopped hurting anywhere near as much as they did before. The exercises helped the pain and strengthened my muscles and helped overall with the pain and made track, volleyball and swimming so much better, easier and less painful. Thank you!
Fantastic job!! Greg is very nice-great people skills. Makes you feel comfortable. He’s able to work out the kinks without pain (or minimal amount). Finds the problem easily and is able to work it out. I would recommend seeing him if ever you have a bone problem.
While playing soccer I fell on my right knee. I could hardly walk off the field. The next day it wasn’t much better, so my dad took me into Action Sport Physio. There my knee was looked at and I found out I had bruised my knee bone. They put ice on my knee and gave me stretches. On Friday I was much better I could walk, run and do everything I did before I got injured. Thank you very much!!!
I came for physio due to a pinched nerve in my neck. After several weeks of therapy Megan was able to loosen the knots in my neck and back so that I could get back on the golf course.
I’ve learned the benefits of deep tissue hard massage, although initially painful after having tendonitis in both elbows and unable to do any repetitive tasks without having constant pain. I am now able to do so and no longer have pain even after gardening all day.
I’ve had a lot of groin problems the past few years. Getting back on the ice after each injury, I was never really sure whether it was fully healed. After a couple sessions here, I was confident that I would be good to go for the upcoming hockey season.
At first, I was a little skeptical but then after one session the throbbing pain in my ankle was reduced to a helpless whimper. Consecutive sessions turned my ankle pain into ankle pleasure! Ultimately, Action Sport Physio and Megan help me regain my confidence in my ankle, in soccer and in myself! They’ve enabled me to live my best life!
I came to Action Sport with a neck injury from hockey, but with help from Maude and the exercises she gave me to do at home I quickly regained strength in my neck and overall helped me to heal. Now I can move my neck very well and I can get back to my hockey!
4 Weeks ago my lower back was in major pain creating trouble sitting down at work. After 3 weeks of treatment at Action Sport Physio, I have regained my flexibility as well as strengthen my back through different exercises that Maude provided to me. The swelling of my muscles were treated and my ability to lie down and have a goodnight sleep has drastically improved. I am back to normal and was guided with great care.
Walking through the front door I knew I was going to get better. My frozen right shoulder, after not sleeping for 6 days, one 15 minute treatment helped me sleep 2 hours and away we go, caring and hard work helped me get back to work after 6 weeks.
Thank you Everyone!
With only 3 weeks before my rugby semi-finals, I separated my shoulder in a crucial game. I continued playing for 30 minutes, hoping that the injury wasn’t too severe. After consulting our team’s athletic therapist, I came to see Sabrina for treatment. She had me healed up and ready to play in time for my semi-finals. I even got compliments that day for my super hard hits!
Thanks Sabrina!
When I first came in I couldn’t stand straight or bend down, and I was in a lot of pain. Now I feel perfect and even ready to go back to the gym.
Thanks Sebrina!
100% better still sore but improving. Without the physio I could not have finished the flyball season or helped win the regional title.
Thanks!
2 Well received sessions. Soft spoken and easy to understand, I found myself relaxed within moments. He was able to target the problem within the first 15 minutes and relieve the pain with precision and confidence. His knowledgeable hands saved me much pain.
I saw Gregory after experiencing chronic pain in my hip for 2-3 weeks, an injury which had been bothering me off and on for years. He was able to link the pain in my hip to the effect of surgery I had had as a child. Within 24 hours I felt a great range of motion within my hip and was more or less pain free in three days. I was very happy with the level of professionalism and expertise shown.
Thank you!
Sabrina was very effective at treating my injury. She was very professional and helped me recover very fast. This was my second injury and once again Sabrina took care of it nicely. I would recommend her any day to anyone.
When I first come here, I couldn’t walk. Now with the help of Megan I can run and play soccer!
I re-injured my back, which I had herniated 8 months early, to the point where I could barely walk or put my socks on. I tried drugs, chiro and massage but made no progress. Ronny did an assessment and he started me on exercises to relax my back and realign my spine. Between visits with Ronny the osteopath and the Pilates he recommended and now I am feeling great and am starting to play ultimate again. Thanks Ronny!
The Pilates instructor is AMAZING! She’s friendly easy to talk to and so totally knows what she’s doing. She works out a program best suited for your needs – be it toning, pain management, whatever. And what’s great about this program – she’s flexible with it. Any problems with exercises – she’ll tone it down to your level of durability and / or flexibility. Any pain or tight muscles – she’ll scrap the exercises planned and go “rehab” to ease what’s been worked out. Yeah – she gives homework but heck – so far I got me a set of buns that look sizzlin’ in a pair of jean, a stomach that bounces quarters, and coming soon- I’m getting’ sexy back YEAH!!! Luv ya Samya
Having had lower back pain (injury) in the past the treatment by Sabrina immediately started the healing. I believe the therapy process helped me greatly reduce the need for any medication. After 5 sessions and following my “at home” recovery I feel great. Understanding the need to be a patient with patience is and has always increased my recovery time. Sabrina was knowledgeable, friendly and made the recovery more tolerable. I would recommend all to having their physio with Sabrina.
